Kim is a public relations professional who has served in a number of roles in both corporate and non-profit sectors, including director of Public Information and Community Relations for East St. Louis School District 189; vice president of Communications for the Urban League of Metro St. Louis; associate director of Leadership Communications for the American Optometric Association, based in St. Louis; manager of Internal Communications for Centene Corporation, based in Clayton, Mo.; director of Marketing for Brown-Kortkamp Realty Company, based in St. Louis, Mo.; supervisor of Consumer Affairs for the Missouri Division of vocational Rehabilitation, based in Jefferson City, Mo. and senior manager
of Communications for Sara Lee, based in Downers Grove, Ill.
With 20 years of experience that includes media relations, internal communications, social media, marketing and special event planning, Kim enjoys advocating for education, especially as it relates to African-American youth. Other advocacy issues that Kim is passionate about are women’s issues and health care. Organizations that she supports are the United Way of Greater St. Louis, Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure and Access Academies.
Kim is married and has one son. She is currently working on her MBA at Webster University and Montessori training with the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis to become an administrator in education. She enjoys reading, seeing a good movie and watching her son grow up.
